Downtown Torontos Condos: Know The Restrictions!

Now before you actually start to get scared and not read the article, hold on a second! This short article right here might even save you time, space, money, resources and, maybe even, your relationship with your condo neighbors!

I guess one of the things that people overlook when inquiring about a specific condo are the RESTRICTIONS. I mean yes, they might ask or have asked a few things about certain restrictions, but they don’t really give it some serious consideration. For example, they ask about owning pets. The management says “not allowed” and the prospecting buyer just really breezes right thru the conversation and shrugs his or her shoulder. Without even thinking that, what if in the future, he or she decides to adopt or buy that cute little shi-tzu puppy after seeing a really really cute one down the pet shop! I mean, yes that might be way too far off but really now, how many times has that happened to you? Not just with shi-tzus of course or pets! You know, little itty bitty things that you were so positive that you will never like the first time you saw it then BAM!- now you must have it whatever way possible! Must… Have.. That.. Really.. Cool.. Cute.. WHATEVER! No matter what! See? As simple as that. With a little change of heart and a little coercing maybe from you partner or bestfriend or peer and that’s it! YOU WILL GET IT. Right?

Whew! That was just actually about owning or having dogs in any of the beautiful Downtown Toronto condos! What about the other restrictions? Like, plants? As you can see, though they actually beautify your unit, there are plants too that are actually hazardous to your health. Look it up and you will be very surprised at what you will find out! What about furnishings that might require machines just to install them? Instead of actually a little something like “plug and play”, some furnishings, and when I say some I mean the ones that are the “must haves”!, usually require about 2 – 3 guys just to carry it upstairs and then maybe one more person to help out when they’re mounting it to your walls. And then, because you did not ask more details about what-not’s, after $100 – $300 and all that dust to have them on your wall or ceiling, you actually get a call maybe from the building administrator informing you that your recent “attachment” actually caused cracks on the walls?! You know what is going to happen next right? You would have to spend another $100 just to have it taken out of your wall (which has now holes and cracks!) and of course pay for the “damages” and repairs to be done. Get the picture? Horrifying right?

Ok now I’m sure there are a lot of other things that have crossed your mind by now and you would go “yeah” or “naaah not really” or maybe something else. Maybe you have thought of other things too (far more worse scenarios?!). Whatever the situation may be, I guess the moral of the story is very simple: Ask, ask further then ask even further. Just to be sure the what-not’s.
