Do Americans really dislike Canadians?
For a British and the British only perspective it would certainly seem that America as a whole dislike the Canadians, but is this true and if it is, for what reasons?
Perhaps it is not true at all and we are led to believe it is by the media. After all the popular television series South Park loves to take a cheap shot at Canada at every available opportunity and the entire South Park movie was based on America disliking the Canadians. However South Park loves to have a dig at everyone and everything from Guitar Hero all the way to the film Cloverfield in which instead of a giant monster attacking it is a giant guinea pig in a cool looking pirate suit. So are people stuck into just following what they see on the screens or is it actually what American thinks?
Well for one Canada created the popular sport ice hockey and in America is one of the most popular sports. As well as this Maple Syrups home is in Canada so could you be blaming the obesity of the country purely on the fact that the syrup comes from there.
Is it just simply ignorance? Do Americans pressume that Canada is only good for Maple Syrup and hockey? Canada itself is a very rich and beautiful country and it is well worth taking Canadian tours to find out more about it. Could the reason be that Canada did not join America in joining the Iraq war or could it go back as far as the cold war in which Canada kept in talk with Cuba.
What it could be is just an urban myth with only the small amount of ignorant people not taking a liking to the country.
All in all going on one of those holidays to Canada or even perhaps Alaska tours could enlighten you to the country that is Canada.
